About the event
Summer 2020 is back - with 2 weeks of fun workshops for children aged 5-12 years. We have worked hard to find a way to bring summer school to our families and the recent guidance allows us to do this in a safe way. Please read the following info carefully and email us to book!
Dates: Monday 27th July - Friday 31st July AND Monday 3rd August - Friday 7th August. INDIVIDUAL DAYS OR FULL WEEK BOOKINGS
MONDAY 27TH JULY: THIS IS ME (All about me with a Greatest Showman edge)
TUESDAY 28TH JULY: OUR AMAZING WORLD (Famous cities in the world, landmarks, countries - geography and history in a fun package)
WEDNESDAY 29TH JULY: WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE (Jungle/rainforest theme with a Madagascar/Lion King edge)
THURSDAY 30TH JULY: OUT OF SPACE (Everything space related, including space shuttle launches and the planets)
FRIDAY 31ST JULY: SUN, SEA AND LAND (with a Mermaid edge)
MONDAY 3RD AUGUST: FOOD, GLORIOUS FOOD (With an Oliver edge)
TUESDAY 4TH AUGUST: BACK TO SCHOOL (With a Matilda/School of Rock edge)
WEDNESDAY 5TH AUGUST: NOT ALL SUPERHEROES WEAR CAPES (NHS/Key Worker themed Superhero day. This is the only day that Covid will be discussed with children)
THURSDAY 6TH AUGUST: OUR ENVIRONMENT (Saving the planet style)
FRIDAY 7TH AUGUST: CELEBRATIONS (With a party feel, celebrating the good from 2020 rather than negatives)
Themes: Each day will have a theme. There will be NO performances to watch, the days will be a mix of arts and craft, physical activity and games. Children can book on odd days or the whole week. The themes are taken from the topics in the KS1 and KS2 curriculum and will have an educational ‘purpose’ - in that we will aim to deliver content that is not only fun and engaging but helps to bridge a little of the gap from missing education. There will be an element of ‘fitness style’ games outdoors as well as down time indoors.
Venue; Essendine Village Hall, Rhyall Road, Stamford. This hall is large, has separate rooms and outdoor space. We have worked with the hall to make this a safe venue for our programme and we are as excited as they are to be able to offer activities for children at the venue.
Times: 08.30am early doors, 9.30 am normal start, 4pm finish, 5pm late club.
Age: 5-12 years. The guidance advises that we do not have those over 13 apart from our volunteers or staff therefore we will not be able to accept older children this year.
Safety: Following the new ‘Protective measures for out of school settings’ from the government, released on 1st July we will be teaching in pods of 15. There will be detailed info regarding this in the booking pack that we send when you register your interest. All staff have Covid training, and a first aider and safeguarding lead is on site at all times. Sessions will be run in accordance to government regulations. We have to keep a record of attendees for track and trace and this forms part of the wider risk assessment we do to minimise risk, just like a school or other provider.
Cost: Each day from 09.30am - 4.00pm costs £20.00. If you need early and late care this is available, at a cost of £2 per child per morning or afternoon session. Please note we cannot provide any food or drink apart from the filling of water bottles. Payment will be by BACS only apart from the early and late which will be £2 in a pot at the door.
Booking: To book any of the workshops, email us at admin@wildcats-uk.com with the following info:
Childs Name
Date of Birth
Workshops you would like to book
We will then send you a PDF booking back which you can read through which contains more detailed info about the programme.
